Job Description:

 

HTX is seeking a dynamic Engineer / Lead Engineer of AI Governance to develop and implement a comprehensive AI Governance strategy and playbook. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure responsible AI adoption across the organization. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in AI, ethics, governance, and experience in AI safety measures, such as red-teaming, to test systems for robustness, security, and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. AI Governance Strategy:
    1. Contribute to the development of a strategy to guide responsible AI development, deployment, and usage.
    2. Address AI challenges, including explainability, fairness, privacy, security, accountability, transparency, and robustness, aligning with organizational principles.
  2. AI Governance Playbook:
    1. Help create and implement a structured AI Governance playbook to operationalize the governance strategy and address emerging AI risks.
  3. AI System Design & Monitoring:
    1. Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to ensure AI systems are designed with safety and ethics in mind.
    2. Establish metrics and monitoring processes to track AI system compliance with governance standards.
  4. Red-Teaming & Risk Mitigation:
    1. Conduct red-teaming exercises to identify potential AI safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    1. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI governance considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    1. Regularly review and update the AI governance strategy and playbook to ensure ongoing relevance.
  7. Reporting & Insights:
    1. Provide regular reports to leadership and stakeholders on AI governance performance, effectiveness, and recommendations.
  8. Strategic Foresight:
    1. Conduct research and foresight exercises to identify future challenges and opportunities for AI governance.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

Education: 

 

  1. Postgraduate/tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other quantitative fields.

 

 Experience: 

 

  1. Minimum 5 years in technology development, with at least 3 years of experience in large-scale, multi-site projects.
  2. Strong knowledge of AI/ML, data science, and AI safety.
  3. Experience in red-teaming and AI safety initiatives.

 

Technical Skills: 

 

  1. Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and trends.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

 

Additional Skills: 

 

  1. Strong facilitation, organizational, and strategic foresight abilities.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  3. Domain knowledge in the Homeland Security sector is an advantage.
