Your Future Team:
We are looking for a Senior Privacy & Product Counsel – Incidents to report to the Director of Privacy – Incident Response. You will join our global Legal Incidents Team, comprised of experienced privacy professionals skilled in incident management. This team provides round-the-clock support during incidents, ensuring that Atlassian meets its legal obligations and upholds our core values.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business teams to investigate and manage legal obligations during incidents.
- Provide compliant, business-focused solutions that balance risk and Atlassian’s values.
- Identify areas for improvement in our incident response capabilities, collaborating with partner teams to enhance processes and tools.
- Review and advise on external communications, including customer notices, during incidents.
- Build relationships to strengthen the connection between legal and partner teams.
Qualifications:
Your Background:
- 5+ years of legal practice experience, particularly in providing legal advice during incidents, including privacy breaches.
- Necessary qualifications to practice law in your local jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of applicable privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, Australian Privacy Act).
- Ability to distill complex legal and technical concepts into clear language for senior leaders.
Compensation:
At Atlassian, we are committed to equitable and transparent compensation programs. Our baseline salary range is higher than the typical market range. For this role, the current base pay for new hires in the U.S. varies by geographic zone:
- Zone A: $192,800 – $257,000
- Zone B: $173,500 – $231,300
- Zone C: $160,000 – $213,300
